Bryan has practiced law in Virginia since 1999. He represents property owners in contract and title disputes, and represents both landlords and tenants in matters that range from residential lease issues and evictions to commercial property management. Bryan files Mechanics Liens for contractors who have not been paid and also represents both contractors and property owners in law suits to enforce or defend against the liens. Business owners have hired Bryan to resolve disputes with co-owners so they can go about running their businesses. Bryan also represents people in divorces and in matters concerning child custody spousal and child support. His diverse practice frequently brings him before the Judges in the Greater Richmond area.
Outside of the courtroom, Bryan helps clients who want to get their estates in order and protect their families and businesses by preparing wills, trusts, and other life planning documents for them. He has guided many business owners though the process of forming their businesses, buying and selling businesses, and drafting leases and other contracts/documents for a wide range of personal and business purposes. He serves as Registered Agent for numerous businesses in the Central Virginia area whose owners also consider him their company or family lawyer. Religious congregations have also sought out his advice and representation in matters including incorporation, seeking tax-exempt status, church trustee issues, and the purchase and sale of church real estate.
Bryan also handles residential and commercial real estate closings and matters involving real estate finance.
Bryan's goal for his clients is to give them good value for the money they spend on representation. Litigation is expensive and the results can be uncertain. Often, knowing when and how to stay out of the courtroom gives a client the best results possible, and Bryan knows how and when a dispute can be resolved to his client's benefit without the need for a drawn-out lawsuit. At the same time, Bryan's varied and extensive background with different types of litigation and his courtroom experience provides reassurance to his clients that he will serve them well if going to court cannot be avoided.
Bryan was born in California, living in Los Angeles County before moving to Virginia in high school. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in dual majors, Spanish and Sociology. He attended George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1999 before moving to Richmond.
